Fear of the unknown

Have you ever felt happy so much that you begin to anticipate the worse?

Ever felt loved only to look for a way out?

Felt a connection just to ghost them?

Yes, us too. If we do not address it, soon or later we might end up killing a good thing.

One of the things that I love to reference in most of my conversations is an emotional wall. I will continue to refer it up until we acknowledge its existence in our lives.

Emotional walls come about as a result of many interlinked causes. One of the many is hurt.

Hurt. We all have been hurt before. Be it in relationships, friendships, family and just life in general. Unresolved feelings of hurt can have a huge bearing on how we approach situations in life.

A good example is how we expect bad things to happen so that when they actually happen it should not hurt us as much.

Such an expectation is an indicator that we’re operating from a survival mode. We’re always alert of our surroundings, fighting to make sure that nothing catches us off guard.

We fail to appreciate the good things in life because we are in a constant limbo of what if’s.

What we need to know is that bad things will always happen one way or the other.

It is inevitable.

Anticipating it will only mean living through it twice.

Yes, our loved ones left before we could say goodbye. Our spouses are happy with another person. Our friends blocked our contacts.

But does it mean that every single person coming after them will do the same?

Probably not.

So, whenever we get the chance to be happy, let us do it to the fullest.
